When you finish you will be able to
Build the plan for a job with its critical path and its cost, and say how much margin it leaves.
What you learn
- Order the tasks of a job by their dependencies and draw its network.
- Calculate the duration of a job, its critical path and the float of each task with the forward and backward passes.
- Calculate the direct cost and the unit cost of an order, including waste with its base.
- Set the price for a given margin and calculate the margin a price leaves, in money and as a share of the price.
- Compare alternatives by their time and their cost, and explain the variances between planned and actual.
Who it is for
Young people aged 16 to 24 who already write the specification for a design and coordinate work in a group (courses “Designing to requirements” and “Coordinating without being the boss”). Stage in the tree: competent. Examples from electrical work: the student plans on paper and does not carry out electrical work.
